John Elliot Cormack

This is part of a birthday card to Elliot from his mother.

It was sent on June 9, 1982

Following is a transcript:

P.S.

When your birthday comes around, I think of your namesake, your father's (only) brother, Elliot, whose birthday was the eighth of June. Your uncle Elliot was about 4-6 years older than your father. His name was James
Elliot Cormack, and he was one of the nicest, finest people I ever met. He
and his wife operated and partly - with your Grandmother Mowat - owned the Hotel St. Mawes in St. Mawes, Cornwall. Elliot had a brilliant mind. He was a math genius.
So you were named John Elliot, as Bill already was James Wm. The John was my father's name, and your [grand]father's brother, Uncle John Cormack.
Ah! Time marches on. It does indeed!
